Bradford and Barbara Washburn papers, 1920-

The Bradford and Barbara Washburn Papers consist of diaries, maps, slides, and photographs documenting the Washburns' many mountaineering and mapping expeditions. They also include publications by and about the Washburns and their work, the text of speeches by Bradford Washburn, and various biographical material. The collection is particularly notable for its 8x10 aerial photographic negatives of mountain terrain, taken primarily in Alaska in the years 1937-1976.
